smetimes when I feel stuck and need guidance I trun to this and it is always right on :)

so today I asked a question and this was my answer

The magical child

I am cib,
glactic guide, mystic ferryman

of the pattern and mystery of your being.

Plant the staff within, that is may grow
into a blossoming tree of wisdom
with the power to heal and unite!
From me, learn the use of this power devine,
like and electrical current,
to serve the purpose of the light.

I am Cib, mystical emissary of solar consciousness.
blissful is the message I extend in my staff!
Open to me as a chalice.

at the Coalessence festival! arkansas is SOOOOO beautiful in the fall and to dance and boogie down with kan'nal during this magical time just seems almost unimaginably fun!
we are having friends form the west coast come and party down with us sothis concert is going to have extra fun attatched to it!
if anyone who is traveling from a distance to see this show needs help finding a campground, lodging, couch to crash on, etc... message me and i'll do what i can to help you out!

Earth Rockers releasing long-awaited third CD at Boulder Theater on Friday June 6

Boulder based Kan’Nal is coming out if hibernation to release their new album MYTH MAGIC. The summer tour starts at the Boulder Theater with a Masquerade Ball and includes special guests LionVibe, GSP and DJ Raja Ananda. The journey continues with concerts in California, Oregon, and Ohio, as well as another local concert at the Mishiwaka amphitheater near Fort Collins on June 20. Blending primal rhythms, swirling dancers and ancient instruments with alternative rock, Kan’Nal creates a musical, visual, and sensual experience. Their “Earth Rock” style, established on their Sony Red album, Dreamwalker, conveys raw power and signals a new evolution in modern music. Michael Deeds of the WASHINGTON POST writes, "Kan'Nal's concerts are spectacular: hypnotic percussion, guitar and buzzing didgeridoo create a spirit-channeling framework or Tzol's primal, sensual vocals… Kan'Nal's two mesmerizing female dancers gyrate as if possessed, eyes rolled back, sometimes holding deer antlers to their craniums.”

My name is Amy Jo and I'll be going to my FIRST Kan'Nal show on june 6th up in Boulder - the Masquerade Ball! I'm so fricken exctied to see the band live for the first time that I can't stand it! But I have a problem: this will also be my first visit to Colorado and I don't know a soul there. I don’t know if any of you heard of the Joshua Tree Music Festival in Cali…but the same fella has put together another festival- Check out their myspace page. The 2nd annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival is happening October 20 and 21 at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground, in the shadows of the infamous National Park. This rootsicana newgrassy folkadelic experience is for music loving souls of all ages. The music is continuous, alternating on two stages in one bowl, creating an intimate festival experience. Temperatures in the magical Mojave desert in October are ideal!

The festival lineup includes The Avett Brothers, Hot Buttered Rum, Uncle Earl, The Greencards, Dan Bern, South Austin Jug Band, Jake Shimabukuro, Martha Scanlan, Merle Jagger & Tim Easton, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, the Everybodyfields, Bluehouse, Honky Tonk Train, and the Trespassers.

Plenty of on site camping. Children of all ages are welcome. The festival village includes Organic Foods, World Market, KidsVille, Art Installations, the Love Train, daily parades and more. Last year, my sister-in-law who lives in Alaska, turned us on to kan'nal. We were mezmerized! My husband and I keep checking your tour dates and are bummed that you have come so very close to Boise, Idaho, but never (at least in recent years) have quite made it here. We couldn't make Faireworlds this year, so we missed you there! Yeah, you were in Sun Valley on July 31, but for those of us who work the next day... I KNOW that you would be a screaming, sold out phenomenon here. Yes, trading,through the mail....I know that there are a few shows on the lma but I miss going to the mailbox and finding a package of live cd's waiting for me.
So, I have some very nice Kan'Nal stuff(nothing from this year =( ...) and I am looking for more live shows by Kan'Nal,Lunar Fire,or Tzol-o stuff...I know there are people out there somewhere that have taped or gotten some live stuff on disc....so if you have stuff to trade let me know.
I was also thinking of starting a cd tree or vine...anybody interested??? Please let me know

Greetings Kan'Nal family,
I am responding to Teresita's post asking for further ideas on how Kan'Nal can help promote earth-friendly practices at festivals. First, I commend very much the commitment to using bio-diesel fuel on tours and encouraging ride-sharing. YAY! Other thoughts:

A) When setting up a gig, it can be made known that Kan'Nal supports the use of clean, renewable energy sources for the electricity that powers the stage. Many of the big festivals happen during the summer, when there is maximum sunlight. In many progressive areas of the country, there are now portable solar power systems available for such purposes - oftentimes solar panels mounted on a trailer with battery storage units. If the festival organizers are given enough lead time (and encouragement), they can very possibly connect with the right resource people. Clan Dyken in northern California and other groups are having some success in setting up green power for stages.

B) Festival organizers can also be encouraged to start taking steps toward "zero waste" events which discourage the use of throwaway plastic plates, cups, and utensils. One example of how this can happen is to offer incentives (such as slight discounts on vending fees) to food vendors committed to using all bio-degradable materials. There are now utensils available that look like plastic but are actually completely bio-degradable.

There are of course other good ideas, but here are at least two. It is true that these are festival organizer decisions, but Kan'Nal can still use its influence while setting up a gig to convey that these kinds of earth-friendly practices are important to them. And who knows, it might well tip the scales just enough and make a difference !

Welcome to another year of Dreamtime! As you sit and read this newsletter, there are already 17 dreamers living on the land in Paonia, braving winds of 60mph, hanging out with the alpacas, sleeping in yurts, and taking treks daily to the empty anticipant site of our now-infamous festival in the desert. As you can imagine planning for an event like this takes many months of preparation, fundraising, promoting and visualizing.

Today I approach you as a way to being the solidification process of this year's "Soul Mate Bar and Lounge" staff. My name is Zoë and I have worked for Dreamtime for three years. This is my second year serving as the mate bar manager. Over time, the mate bar has evolved into one of the festival's busiest areas, as well as our #1 fundraiser. This year, the status quo just shot to outer space! We will have live music acts on our own stage, host herbal elixer ceremonies, as well as extend our hours to 7am-4am.

I am looking for 19, charismatic, devoted souls who are interested in saving the world through service, evolution, and the sharing of energy in a purifying way. For the last year, I have been connecting with individuals interested in participating in the production during the festival. Now is when the manifestation of all those planted seeds will begin.

Job Description

First and foremost, you must be willing to fully commit to 3, 4hr shifts. I will work closely with each of you as needed to ensure you get to see the music you want and experience the festival when I create the schedule, but to begin with, for the sake of security, I need a full commitment from you, to proceed with my office end of this job.

Each shift will include three positions, 1 – shift lead (will be manager/senior staff) 2 – cashier 3 – busser (2 and 3 will not be strictly enforced and 1 will go with where ever the flow says, whether cashier, stocking, or bussing) Basically, everyone will be fully equipped with the same list of responsibilities but positions will be created for the sake of clarity.

There will be music in the mate bar from 12pm-4am, therefore, the crowd has the potential of being very thick. As a staff, we must be willing to hold very strong space in this environment, which means you must be able to quickly and efficiently move through the line of customers as well has maintain a vibe that feels excited, uplifted, and supportive of whatever is going on. There will be more staff than simply 'The Nineteen' working behind the scenes, including a stage manager, floating volunteers, and interns who have helped with the vision. The more cohesive we are with our system, the better everything will fall into place.

I expand upon this so greatly because I want to emphasize the level of energy work we are doing by creating this space. Alchemical magic comes from our own inner state of being, and through the process of creating these beverages we are infusing our beliefs and intentions into the water and mate. The future of food-as-medicine comes from our ability to see and work with the properties of our ingredients. Over the course of the next few weeks, upon accepting this commitment, you will be receiving lots of information about mate, kombucha, infusion of intention, and space-holding as a service industry worker. I believe all of you who have expressed interest in working here this summer know these things, and our shared vision is what will conjure the highest vibration for the "Soul Mate Bar and Lounge".

There will be such a level of presence needed that the following things would be too disruptive:

1. Children behind the bar while on shift (this does not mean if you have kids you can't work here, just that we would need to work together to find a way your child could be cared for in some place other than behind the counter)

2. Leaving in the middle of a shift or even seeking to split shifts into smaller segments (our system regarding money is based upon a 4hr shift, and the accountability in this environment is specific to who is on the schedule)

3. Coming to a shift under the influence of any substance that inhibits your ability to be clear and graceful

If you have any special circumstances as far as what these requirements are, I encourage you to still submit the questionnaire and let me know what you are feeling. Although I need 19 specific slots filled to fully commit, there are other options that could be worked out to accommodate your participation in the production.

Will Kan'nal be gigging at Earthdance again this year? Clear notice is conspicuously absent from both the gig and the band, so I suspect there's either contract negotiations under way or some other issues at hand. I haven't heard that we WON'T be graced with Kan'nal again this year, but I'd love to know.

Not worried yet, but still kinda...... worried. ;-]

Sooo … here’s a few of my theater shots. Flash photography was forbidden and it was too congested to set up a tripod in front so I set up in the balcony and did what I could.
I’m currently editing some great ones from the “afterparty” and the Apogaea Town Hall Meeting.
I’ll have those and all my other albums up soon and consolidated into a new master gallery.
